New patients
Your first visit
We know that you have a lot to tell us, and we want to make sure we truly understand what you have to say.
- Paperwork at home. Our intake paperwork for pregnant patients has two parts and is designed to help you tell us everything we need to know about you and your pregnancy. We suggest you fill it out at home (patient forms), but we’re glad to give you the same paperwork in the office.
- Your questions. During your first visit there is time to cover any other questions and information you would like to discuss.
- A gentle evaluation. Our new patient evaluation looks not only at the problems that are obvious to you, but also for less obvious imbalances that might be contributing to your condition. It includes gentle, noninvasive technology we bought especially for our pregnant patients, a combination of thermography and electromyography taken entirely off the surface of the skin, along with range-of-motion assessment, orthopedic tests, muscle strength tests, hands-on palpation, and a chiropractic assessment of the alignment of your spine and other problem joints.
- Your plan. At the end of the evaluation we discuss how to proceed. The majority of our patients are able to start chiropractic adjustments on the first day.
X-rays are never suggested during pregnancy in our office, but might be suggested after birth to determine our best course of action.

The same evaluation is also helpful for our Medicare patients and for people who have been injured in car accidents or in other ways.
